Carbyne is a one-dimensional form of carbon made of linear chains with alternating single and triple bonds. It’s known as the strongest carbon structure—stronger than diamond or graphene—and has unique electronic properties, including potential use in semiconductors and energy storage. Its strength, flexibility, and surface area make it highly valuable in advanced materials science.

In combat, Carbonyte combines this powerful quirk with her years of boxing training. Her skill in close-quarters combat, paired with her hardened body, makes her a devastating heavy-hitter capable of both taking and dishing out serious damage.

She wears custom gear designed for hero work. All her clothes—especially her boots and gloves—are reinforced to handle heavy damage. When her quirk is active, any impact she takes transfers energy into her cape, which mimics her protective quirk on a smaller scale. She often uses the cape to shield civilians—it's like an extension of her powers.

Her past

Growing up in Korea, Sezja Han felt like an outsider due to her Russian features, but she embraced her unique look, making her bright smile a trademark of defiance. She found her first true friend in high school, a girl named Seo-yeon, and they quickly became inseparable.

After high school, Sezja realized her feelings for Seo-yeon were deeper than friendship, but her hopes were dashed when Seo-yeon announced she was getting married. Despite her heartbreak, Sezja supported her friend. Feeling lost, she threw herself into her passion for boxing.

During a match, her latent quirk unexpectedly awakened, causing an incident that led to legal trouble. It was then that she met Dr. Taesoo Kim, the dean of a hero academy, who offered to handle her legal issues in exchange for her enrollment. She accepted, using the opportunity to channel her newfound power and find a new purpose: to create a safer world for everyone, especially for her friend and her family.

• Quirks and Tastes: Despite her serious job, Sezja has a goofy side. She's prone to deadpan bad jokes and has a famously bizarre palate, swearing her strange food combinations are amazing. She's almost always seen with a lollipop or a sugary drink, revealing a serious sweet tooth.

After a painful past, her true purpose is to create a safe and stable country—a vow she made to herself, and for those she cares about most. Her deep-seated desire to protect others is the fire that drives her to transcend her limits every day.
